Parent Coaching is a relationship that is focused on helping you strengthen your parenting skills in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space. Within this relationship my role is to encourage, educate, and support your growth as you apply new strategies, parenting tools and techniques. It is important for me to note while my background provides me with the tools to share with you, you are the expert on your child. Working together we will find what works best for your family and your unique parenting experience.
The time that your coaching process will take depends on the complexity of your goals and your commitment and openness to your process.
Therapy is provided by a licensed mental health professional. It focuses on mental health diagnosis, emotional trauma, and the past and the present for healing.
Coaching focuses on the present and the future, setting, and achieving goals. Coaching is solutions oriented with the goal to provide practical tools to create connection.
As a parent coach, I do not provide therapy. If during our conversations I feel that you, your spouse, or child would benefit from therapy, I will encourage you to seek therapy from a qualified mental health professional. If you are currently working with a therapist, I am happy to support that relationship and will coordinate care as requested.
